This mural was painted in 1991 in the lobby of a high-rise office
building in Century City, Los Angeles.
It was painted over in 1999 by new owners of the building who
wanted to change the decor in the lobby.
The subject of the mural is the past, present, and future of Century
City.
|
Century City was originally the back lot of Twentieth Century
Fox Studios, but was sold to developers in the late '50s due to
financial problems at the studio.
Century City has since been developed into a major financial and
business center with a major impact on the visual skyline of Los
Angeles.
The mural shows images from the past history, life in the present
day, and a glimpse of the future, spread out on a large, curved,
floor-to-ceiling wall.
