James DeBarth Shorb Mural
The central panoramic image of Alhambra is painted from a photograph taken in about 1907 and from a spot very near where the mural is located. The small images at the top left show the installation of water pipes, the irrigation of citrus groves, and the picking of oranges in Alhambra. The image at top right is of Mr. Shorb and his wife visiting the Ramona Convent School, which they founded so their daughters could attend. The two images at bottom left show a local winery Mr. Shorb owned, and he and his family relaxing on the front porch of their home.
